9 removal flights this week, just 1 more than last week, and what seems to be a new normal. Removals to 6 countries. As has been in most of the recent weeks, the majority of removal flights are on Friday, following the shuffle flights moving people around detention centers and staging people for removal.

8 removal flights this week were the lowest since 8 the week of 12 April. Only 6 countries and to be transparent one to Guyana could have been a fuel stop on the way to Brazil, but we included in the removal count.
65 total flights was the lowest number since the 58 the week of 1 March, the week before the 14 per week lateral flights began.

Flights of 98 for the week down from the record 119 of last week and 2 above prior 6-week average. BUT well over the March weekly average of 75 and significantly over February at 44 per week.
Shuffle flights remained at elevated levels resulting from continuing, but modified, lateral flights to El Paso for Expulsion into Juarez. There were 2 lateral flights from Brownsville and 7 from Yuma. 8 arrived for expulsions in El Paso and only 1 in San Diego this week. The week of 8 March, 14 Lateral flights went to El Paso from Brownsville, and between then and this week 1 flight per day went to El Paso and 1 to San Diego from Brownsville.

Removal flights at 9 at extremely low level. Lowest since the week of 26 April 2020 at 6.
Dramatic change with no flights to Mexico. First time there have been no flights since May 2020. In January 237 flights, In February 24. We have a question to ICE to see if that was a US or MX decision. All it means is that more are expelled by land across the border.
Domestic shuffle flights still elevated at 64, of which 31, almost half were related to the “lateral” flights from Brownsville to El Paso and San Diego each day (including weekends), some of which originated in San Antonio.

ICE Air Weekly Activity – Week of 8 March 2021.
Monday started the 2 per day flights from Brownsville to El Paso, and several originated in San Antonio accounting for 13 of the 66 shuffle flights.
Although initially the implication seemed to be to shelters in El Paso that the 270 people a day on the 2 flights were going to be released to them, we were always suspicious of that conclusion. It appears that some of the people on those planes are being expelled into MX from El Paso. Especially worrisome is if families are flown there for expulsion because MX won’t receive them in Tamaulipas, but will in Chihuahua.
