DEATH FLIGHTS – 14 May 2020

9 Flights today - No deportations today so all these were to move people around – in a pandemic.

Ø It was a relatively slow day for ICE Air, BUT NOT FOR HATE FROM ICE.

Ø FAMILY SEPARATION REVEALED IT’S UGLY AND DARK HEART TODAY AGAIN. TODAY WE HAVE REPORTS THAT AT IN AT LEAST ONE OF THE THREE FAMILY DETENTION CENTERS MOMS ARE BEING GIVEN A CALLOUS AND LOATHSOME CHOICE. TODAY WE HAVE REPORTS THAT AT IN AT LEAST ONE OF THE THREE FAMILY DETENTION CENTERS MOMS ARE BEING GIVEN A CALLOUS AND LOATHSOME CHOICE.

Because of a longstanding court ruling, ICE is not supposed to be holding children longer than 20 days. So, ICE has a new way to thumb their nose not only at the spirt of the law, but the law itself. They have been asking Moms to sign forms that say that if they do not agree to separate from their children as the child go to their sponsors alone, then they “waive” their child’s right to release within the required time line. So, rather than, in the middle of the pandemic, release families together to sponsors to plead their case in court, ICE would choose to separate these families to passive-aggressively comply with the court ruling. And, once separated, would they ever be reunited???

Ø As of today, 965 detainees have tested positive for COVID, up 22 from yesterday. Only 16 more people have were tested bringing that total to 1,804. Of those tested, 53% have been positive
