Expulsion and deportation. Expulsion is the mechanism by which all asylum is denied. No hearing. No chance to plead for mercy. Even children. Thousands. Sometimes within an hour you are back on the other side of the border. Sometimes they put you on a plane. Goodbye.

Deportation. You got in before expulsion began. So you are subjected to a legal procedure. You are kept in jail, exposed to COVID-19, and then there is a deportation order from an immigration judge. Loaded on planes. Flown to the country you fled. Pariahs.

That is what is happening. That is the policy.

The rest is noise.
