DEATH FLIGHTS - WEEK OF 20 July – please share for transparency
DEPORTATION FLIGHTS AT RECORD LEVEL SINCE COVID SHUT DOWN IN MARCH
- THIS WEEK THERE WERE 21 DEPORTATION FLIGHTS TO 9 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES, TIED WITH THE HIGHEST VOLUME WEEK SINCE THE MARCH 15 SHUT DOWN. COVID SEEDED AND SPREAD TO THE WORLD COMPLIMENTS OF ICE AIR.
- THE ICE AIR DEPORTATION MACHINE KEEPS RUNNING IN HIGH GEAR WHILE, AS WE SPEAK, ICE IS TERRORIZING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. HOLDING SOME ALONE IN EXTRAJUDICIAL HOTEL JAILS AND OTHERS IN JEOPARDY OF BEING SEPARATED FROM THEIR FAMILES. NOT TO MENTION THEIR STORM TROOPERS INVADING CITIES. THERE IS NO BOTTOM IN THE POOL OF THEIR HATE.
90 Total Flights. Down 1 from last week and a bit above the last 6-week average of 89. Deportations of 21 however, were 24% above the last 6-week average of 17.
WEEKLY SUMMARY
- 90 Flights, down one last week. Shuffle flights were 7 below their 6-week average, probably to create capacity for the increase in deportation related flights (including connections and returns).
21 Deportations – up 3 from last week and to 9 different countries. 24% above the last 6-week average of 17.
- Mexico (7), same as last week (see more below). The majority of crossings now are of single Mexicans.
- Honduras (4), same as last week.
- Guatemala (3), up same as last week
- El Salvador (2), same as last week,
- Haiti, Nicaragua, Dominican and Ecuador each accepted 1 flight.
- St. Vincents-Grenadine accepted a flight for the first time this year based on our witness.
- 13 Deportation US Connections, up 2 from last week.
- 20 Deportation Returns, up 3 from last week
- 36 Shuffle flights in the US, down 7 from as last week.
Ø Noteworthy this week
The number of deportation flights is becoming more consistent. Typical numbers:
Mexico – 7. Mondays: Villahermosa (2), Guadalajara. Wednesday: Morelia. Thursday: Mexico City (2), Guadalajara.
Honduras – 4, sometimes 5.
Guatemala – 3
El Salvador – 2.
Dominican, Haiti, Ecuador, Nicaragua – 1 every other week.
Other countries in Latin America and Caribbean – periodically.
Ø The Detainee population dropped 207 this week, similar to last week and the third week at a relatively small decrease. The June weekly average decrease was about 650. May saw decreases of about 1,000 per week.
Ø Almost 70,000 asylum seekers have been turned back under this illegal order since mid- March. 27,000 alone in June out of 30,400 encounters and up from 20,000 in May.
Ø 3,780 detainees have tested positive for COVID, up 184 or 5%, this week. 16,503 have been tested, up 3,780 this week, so 23% positive rate. This week’s 3,780 tests followed weeks of 1,734 and 1,315. We are not sure of why there was an increase, or if results are in.
-There are 969 detainees in isolation of under monitoring, almost the same as last week.
Note: ICE Air does not disclose their flights. Flight listing gleaned from public flight information, knowledge of detention center locations, air charter services and historic patterns. In rare cases, there may be a flight we miss, or include in error.
