DEATH FLIGHTS - WEEK OF 7 September – please share for transparency
- NO HOLIDAY FOR HATE ON LABOR DAY FOR ICE AIR
- 96 TOTAL ICE AIR FLIGHTS WITH 21 DEPORTATION FLIGHTS, both above prior 6-week average.
- Volume was unexpectedly high following the massive number of flights last week of 115 total, including 24 deportations.
- 2nd Saturday in a row with flights. 3 in total, including a deportation to Mexico.
WEEKLY SUMMARY
- 96 Total Flights. Down 19 from last week, but still 5 above the last 6-week average of 91.
- 21 Deportations – Down 3 from last week, but 3 over prior 6-week average. To 5 different countries.
- Mexico (9), same as last week and second week in a row at 9. August was 7 per week and now stepped up to 9. Flights to 5 different cities this week: Mexico City (2), Guadalajara (2), Villahermosa (1), Puebla (1), and Queretaro (3). This week there was no flight to Morelia for the first time in many weeks. This is only the 2nd week of flights to Queretaro.
- Honduras (2), down 1 from last week. Now seems to alternate between 3 and 2 per week. In July there were about 4 per week and prior to that 4-5 per week.
- Guatemala (5), same as last week and up 2.5 from the June to mid-August levels of 2 or 3 flights per week. There have been 19 flights in 19 of the last weekdays.
- El Salvador (2), same as last week, 2nd week in a row at 2 after running at 1 per week for 4 weeks.
- Nicaragua (3), up 3 from last week and the first week with a flight to Nicaragua in 6 weeks. Before that they were about every other week.
- 16 Deportation US Connections, down 4 from last week, but 2 above recent 6-week average.
- 20 Deportation Returns, down 3 from last week, consistent with decrease in deportations.
- 39 Shuffle flights in the US, down 9 from as last week, and 3 below the last 6-week average.
Ø NOTEWORTHY THIS WEEK
- Haiti: There was not a flight to Haiti last week. First week without 1 flight in 5 weeks.
- Nicaragua: The first week with a flight to Nicaragua in 6 weeks. Before that they were about every other week.
- Mexico: Remained at the higher level of 9 flights this week to 5 different interior cities. We know from last month’s Border Patrol statistics that the number of single Mexican Nationals crossing and expelled under the CDC order has been increasing and that 34% are people that have tried multiple times. August statistics just came out and they remain consistent at a high level. Will analyze shortly.
Ø The Detainee population dropped only 187 this week, to 20,302. The June weekly average decrease was about 650. May saw decreases of about 1,000 per week. But the last 2 weeks the reductions were only about 100 per week.
Ø Through August, 147,866 asylum seekers have been turned back and expelled under the illegal CDC order (title 42) since mid-March, 42,136 alone in July, up 7,000 from July
Ø Almost 9,000 unaccompanied children have been expelled into danger alone since mid-March/
- It has been reported by CBP that the few that may not qualify to be expelled, some not from Mexico or Northern Triangle Countries, are still being enrolled in MPP.
Ø 5,686 detainees have tested positive for COVID, up this week by 217 or .4%. Testing increased more last week than any other week, by 3,651 to 32,539, so the positivity rate was around 17%. There are 537 detainees in isolation of under monitoring, up slightly by 79 from last week.
