Rally and Light Projection Against Child Detention

Join us at Homestead Detention Center at 7:00 PM on April 10, 2021 at 920 Bougainville Blvd for a rally and light projection to make clear that we must #KeepHomesteadClosed and continue to fight against any temporary influx facility. #NotHereNotAnywhere

The Biden Administration will not take a stand or publicly disclose whether or not Homestead will reopen while it considers its list of inappropriate militarized environments for migrant children. If Homestead is reopened, It will still be run by a for-profit company that will be disincentivized to quickly get children to their families, further traumatizing them and the entire community. We also know thanks to AFSC’s Health at Risk report that Homestead poses serious health and safety threats.

Stand with us to end this crisis of this country’s own making in its failure to end Title 42 or to allow migrants to be with families with whom they came to stay. Stand with us to say no to child prisons, at Homestead or anywhere. #EndChildDetention #NoMoreChidPrisons
