DEATH FLIGHTS – 18 May 2020

ICE Air continued to seed and spread COVID outside and inside the US this week through

15 Flights today. 4 Sat and 1 Sun. Today 6 planes in the air

3 Deportations – 2 Honduras and 1 Guatemala. 3 Deportation connections. 3 Deportation Returns and 11 flights shuffling around the US.

Ø Today Guatemala did accept the deportation flight that was delayed from last Friday because Guatemala held it because 3 deportees tested positive from a flight last Wednesday. Based on the announcement from their Foreign Ministry is unclear about when regular deportation flights will resume. Guatemala is working with the CDC on what new measured need to be taken.

- Jeff Abbott reported that today’s deportation flights had as passengers 8 unaccompanied children. A full flight just to send children back alone. Ø Disturbing reporting today from ProPublica and the Texas Tribune about rushing of the deportation of CHILDREN. For me, it was a very difficult article to read. But necessary because we cannot look away. We only see the planes, we do not see the people. But we feel them. We know they are there. We think about them. But, CHILDREN. It makes your heart skip a beat thinking about what awaits them. The danger and risk they were fleeing, or something even worse, if that is possible.

Ø Today, detainees with COVID jumped 87 to break the 1,000 mark at 1,073. There have now been 2,172 tested (consistent with ICE’s statement of testing about 2,000 per month), up 118 today. Of those tested 49% have been positive, a ratio that has been extremely consistent over time. The exportation danger continues to grow.
