DEATH FLIGHTS - WEEK OF 14 September – please share for transparency

Ø 24 DEPORTATIONS

Ø 1 FLIGHT ROUTE TO AFRICA. 4 DEPORTATION DESTINATIONS IN AFRICA THAT PROVIDED trump WITH A BRAGGING OPPORTUNITY

Ø 10 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES

WEEKLY SUMMARY

- 84 Total Flights. Down 12 from last week, and 9 below the last 6-week average of 93.

- 24 Deportations – up 3 from last week, and 3 over prior 6-week average. To 10 different countries, of which 4 were in Africa.

- Africa, (1 / 4) Omni Air charter flight to Kenya with men and women deportees then additionally to Somalia, Sudan and Sri Lanka. These deportations to Africa are very hard to see on this different charter unless an advocate contacts us which was done in this case so we were able to find the plane and track. Over 20 hours on the plane. Over 8 hours to Africa then a stop for fuel before another 8 hours to Kenya. Shackled hands and feet the entire way, even when eating or going to the toilet. In Kenya, those that continued, were placed on commercial flights with Kenyan police to Sudan, Somalia and Sri Lanka. Without a doubt a COVID spreading and exporting opportunity to countries that are in no way capable of handling. And we must not forget, many of these people left their beloved families in the US. Mothers, Fathers, siblings, children. Barbaric.

But it gave trump something to brag about in Minnesota. Click here for article.

“Trump began his speech with the topic of refugees and immigration.

“I’m the difference and I’m the wall,” Trump said after railing against refugees and bragging about the latest deportations of Somali nationals. “I’m the wall between the American dream and chaos.”

Ø NOTEWORTHY THIS WEEK

- Africa: as noted above.

- Haiti: A flight resumed this week after a week with no flights following 5 weeks with 1 flight.

- Nicaragua: No flights for 6 weeks, then 3 flights last week with no flights this week.

- Mexico: Remained at the higher level of 9 flights this week to 5 different interior cities. We know from last month’s Border Patrol statistics that the number of single Mexican Nationals crossing and expelled under the CDC order has been increasing and that 34% are people that have tried multiple times. August statistics just came out and they remain consistent at a high level. Will analyze shortly.

Ø The Detainee population dropped 164 this week, about the same drop as last week, to 20,138. The June weekly average decrease was about 650. May saw decreases of about 1,000 per week. But the last 2 weeks the reductions were only about 100 per week.

Ø Through August, 147,866 asylum seekers have been turned back and expelled under the illegal CDC order (title 42) since mid-March, 42,136 alone in July, up 7,000 from July

Ø Almost 9,000 unaccompanied children have been expelled into danger alone since mid-March/

- It has been reported by CBP that the few that may not qualify to be expelled, some not from Mexico or Northern Triangle Countries, are still being enrolled in MPP.

Ø 5,878 detainees have tested positive for COVID, up this week by 192 or 3%. Testing increased last week by 2,484 to 35,023 so the positivity rate was around 17%. There are 572 detainees in isolation of under monitoring, up slightly by 44 from last week.

Note: ICE Air does not disclose their flights. Flight listing gleaned from public flight information, knowledge of detention center locations, air charter services and historic patterns. In rare cases, there may be a flight we miss, or include in error.
